Lets go over some "Timeline Tips for Wedding Photography: Ensuring a Stress-Free Day" ft some samples from our couple Natalia & Matthew's Wedding Day hosted at St. Joseph's Banquet & Conference Centre in Oakville Ontario.
Planning a wedding can be a whirlwind of excitement, but when it comes to capturing those precious moments, a well-thought-out timeline is key. As a seasoned wedding photo/film studio, we have witnessed the magic that unfolds when couples prioritize a stress-free schedule. In this guide, we'll break down a typical wedding day timeline and offer essential tips to ensure there's ample time for capturing all those unforgettable shots.
Getting Ready (2-3 hours before the ceremony):
We encourage our couples to start the day early to allow for a relaxed getting-ready process.
an average of 2 hours ensures the best captures of candid moments, details like the dress, shoes, and accessories, as well as the emotional interactions with any family and friends before having to depart the prep locations.
Pre-Ceremony Shots (1-2 hours before the ceremony):
Schedule time for any individual and group portraits before the ceremony begins. This is a good time to do a first look (if choosing to have one) as well as any family photos via a shot list.
Post or PRE-Ceremony Photos (1-2 hours):
Allocate time for bridal party shots, couple portraits and any creative captures either before or after your ceremony.
Keep the energy high and emotions fresh for authentic and joyful photographs.
Ceremony (30 minutes to 1 hour):
The length of time spent at the official ceremony is dependant on whether your ceremony is held with an officiant or in a church/religious building. Allocate enough time for any delays accordingly 🤫
