In this blog we will explore:
Why Bringing Your Own Photography & Videography Team To a Destination Wedding Will ALWAYS produce the BEST results
- featuring just a few teasers from this beautiful wedding in Crete Greece

As Sara & Ed whisked away their closest friends and family for a week-long celebration in the Mediterranean, we were honoured to be their trusted photography and videography team.

From the sun-soaked beaches to the breathtaking hilltop ceremonies, we had an absolute blast producing and maximizing the content from this project!

Here’s why working with VidMedia was the best choice for Sara and Ed (and could be for you too!)

When it comes to planning a destination wedding, many couples face the tough decision of whether to hire local vendors or bring trusted professionals along for the journey. While local vendors may seem convenient, they don’t always offer the same level of trust, expertise, or creative vision.

We kicked off the week with an all-white welcome party, right after arriving in Greece from Toronto. Our journey, which included a red-eye flight, was a long 12 hour duration, but fortunately, we had more than enough stamina to take it all in stride and engage with many familiar faces within this friend group ❤️

1. Trust & Familiarity

Sara and Ed wanted to ensure that their big day was documented with precision and care. By choosing VidMedia, they knew they were getting a photo/film team who understood their personalities, style preferences, and vision for the wedding. Trust is essential, especially when you’re planning events overseas. Hiring local vendors may involve more risk in terms of reliability, communication, and consistency.

We spent a sun-drenched afternoon exploring the charming streets of town, capturing stunning portraits of the couple as they soaked in the beauty of Greece and prepared for their upcoming wedding. With just a few days left until their big day, there was an air of excitement and anticipation as we documented these special moments leading up to their celebration.

2. A Proven Skill Set

Destination weddings often require a unique approach. Different lighting, venues, and settings come into play, and it's important to have a photography and videography team skilled in adapting to these variables.

At VidMedia, we’re experts in storytelling, no matter the environment. Whether it was capturing Sara and Ed’s emotional vows by the sea or the wild dance parties under the stars, we knew exactly how to bring their love story to life. Our proven track record guaranteed results - even despite a crashed drone and some stolen equipment 🤫🤫🤫🤫 (if you know, you know😂)

3. Consistent Quality

When Sara and Ed booked us, they had already seen our portfolio, knew our process, and trusted our attention to detail. When working with unfamiliar local vendors, you don’t always know what to expect. At VidMedia, we are consistently delivering high-quality photos and videos to all of our clients—no matter where the wedding takes place.

One of the biggest regrets couples often share is not investing in exceptional wedding photography and videography. Once the excitement of the wedding day fades, it's the photos and videos that keep those precious memories alive, allowing them to relive the magic for years to come
