5 Maternity Photos Everyone Should Take!

A lot of people have their wedding photos hanging on the walls of their home, but imagine having images on your walls from every stage in your family’s growth—from marriage to your addition of children, all the way down to when you become grandparents.

We at VidMedia dedicate our love towards creating and capturing the best of the not only the wedding industry within the Toronto area...but also other life milestones as well!

Lets Explore 5 Maternity Photos Everyone Should Take in the blog featuring one of our favourite recurring couples Klaudia and Mike who are now on baby bump #2 ❤️

1. SILHOUETTE or CLEAN BACKDROP

Why it works: There's so much beauty in the shape of a pregnant woman's body.

Pro tip: Look for a clean, simple, but dramatic background, such as clean transparent curtain that our beautiful mother Klaudia set up at her home. You'll need back-lighting to create the silhouette and a flash to illuminate the subject if not completely blacking them out.\

2. USE OF HANDS

Why it works: You already love that little person growing inside, so it's only natural to show that love with your hands incorporated on or around the belly.

3. Big Sister/Big Brother Bonding

Older kids can't wait for their siblings to arrive (whether they know it yet or not), so be sure to capture that excitement and include any other children into the maternity shoot —it'll be nice for them to look back on these captures one day in the future!

4. Mama in The SpotLight

Pretty self explanatory - the main reason for booking a maternity session is to get LOTS of singles of the mother to be! So we of course need some pretty solos with the baby bump 😊 We utilized scenes from our couple's home as well as outdoors for some pretty fall colours!

5. With Your Partner

A maternity photo session does not necessarily have to be for the mother! Throw your partner into a few frames and get some worthy images of the two of you together during your pregnancy. Your maternity photo shoot gives you and your partner a chance to reflect on the life you’ve built together and how much has changed in your relationship since the beginning.

Maternity photos capture a moment in time that’s just as important as your wedding day. You’re welcoming a new child into your lives and your home—that’s huge!
